Looking for something to do this weekend? Go celebrate Culture!
This weekend, September 24-26, the first ever Culture Days will take place – a Canada-wide celebration of arts and culture with free activities and events taking place in communities across the country.
- Interested in organizing an activity of your own? Sign up and register an activity!
- Looking for something to do with a friend or your kids? Search for activities that are taking place near you!
- Never tried a dance class but always wanted to? Look at through the categories of activities being offered.
(For activities in Québec, visit les Journées de la culture‘s website)
Plank has been working hand in hand with the Culture Days team since Day 1 and we are extremely proud to have been part of helping build this movement every step of the way. We are big fans of Journées de la culture, so when the plan came out that this was going to go national – we were really excited. By the time we launched the Culture Days website in 2009, we had no doubt that this was going to be a huge success (largely in part to the tireless efforts of David Moss and Helen Yung). To date, more than 3,500 activities have been organized across Canada for this year’s Culture Days!
Over the past year, Culture Days has grown from a website with information on how to get involved to a one-stop resource for registering your own activities, browsing activities across Canada, downloading tools and materials for promoting your activity in your community, and more… the website (and Culture Days) has something for just about everyone.
Congratulations to everyone who has been part of the Culture Days movement! Stay tuned for plans for 2011.
Now go out there and have fun this weekend!
