The latest Plank staffer we’ve asked to take the time machine back into the past to recount the story behind their first concert is Emerson Lackey, our Developer extraordinaire. Emerson got his rock on at Edgefest’96, the iconic yearly festival that has captured the ears of our nation. He was in attendance at the festival’s tenth incarnation on 30 June 1996 which was the first time there wasn’t an Edgefest show on Canada Day, as had been the norm so many years before. It also marked the return of the festival to its original location at Molson Park in Barrie, Ontario. Emerson was one of the 35,000 fans that took in the sounds of Our Lady Peace, The Tea Party, I
Mother Earth and the fifth Edgefest appearance of 54-40. A truly Canadian line-up indeed!
