Plank is situated in the Belgo building, a space with a great deal of history here in central Montreal that was built in 1912 and was once an industrial building.

We found an illustration that speaks to the Belgo’s storied past as a department store, the location of the Traymore cafe and where the Windsor Bowling and Billiards could be found until much of the space became the location for clothing production here in the heart of the Fur District.

Fast forward to the present day and today, the Belgo Building is home to the largest centre of arts filled to the bricks with over 30 galleries and studios.

The Belgo Report is the best scene report on what is going on in the building and provides a comprehensive listing of news and reviews relating to all of the various exhibitions taking place in the space. We’re lucky to be in such a creative building and share this location with esteemed galleries and artisans including:

The building knows how to put on a party when the yearly Nuit Blanche à Montréal / Montreal All-Nighter event rolls around and it’s doors are open to the public so they can enjoy the luminosity of creativity and art in the depths of the winter months.

Last but not least, the Belgo is also home to the fantastic Ashtanga Yoga Montreal which is a warm and engaging studio that is doing great work in helping the downtown crew decompress.
