<Plank loves music and our passion for it started early on. In the next few posts, we’ll be dancing down memory lane with stories of the first concerts the wee little Plankers (aka -Splinters) attended.
First off, our dear Warren Wilansky shares his little secret.
“Sadly, I think that I have to admit that unfortunately, my first concert experience that I went to on my own volition was…
I was 13 or 14 years old and I had a girlfriend who loved Platinum Blonde and was dying to go see them live. While I knew their music I wasn’t exactly a fan. I may not have yet totally gotten my musical identity figured out by my interest in them began
and ended with Much Music videos. She, on the other hand, loved the Canadian Police-lite. If memory serve the show was at the Verdun Auditorium, our seats were all the way up in
the nosebleeds and her mother came with us. I don’t remember anything at all about the show itself except that she was really, really happy to be there.
Can we instead post about my 2nd concert, U2 at the Forum for the Unforgettable Fire tour? Hahahahahaha!
I even have the set-list.”
